Ateliers Hermes Boissons (AHB), a French co-manufacturer, has become the first company to invest in Hiperbaric’s latest development, the 525 Bulk machine.
With the equipment, AHB will be able to offer the advantages of high-pressure processing (HPP) as well as juice production, bottling and other co-packing services.
The 525 Bulk machine, which was unveiled last year, is based on a patent-pending concept in which beverages are processed in bulk before bottling. The machine delivers up to 4,000 litres per hour.
AHB president Cyril Ledran said: “Premiumisation is the most significant trend influencing the European fruit juice market. Our goal is to provide the highest quality juices, and Hiperbaric 525 Bulk will allow us to do that.
“The in-bulk machine will enable us to provide the many benefits of HPP to our customers, including expanded shelf life, food safety, and cold-pressed, fresh-like juices with no added chemicals or preservatives, while leveraging our packaging capabilities (carton, bag-in-box and PET).”
AHB’s delivery of the 525 Bulk is expected at the end of 2019, with juice production scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2020.
Hiperbaric’s technology is used for processing meat, fish and seafood, fruit and vegetables, juices and other beverages, dairy products and read-to-eat meals.
Headquartered in Spain, the company’s North American operations are in Miami. For more information, visit www.hiperbaric.com. For a video showing how the Bulk technology operates, click here.
