UK pastry brand Ginsters has teamed up with Guinness to launch a brand new steak and stout slice nationwide.
Ginsters Smoky Steak & Guinness Slice aims to add excitement to the category by tapping into the rise in at-home meal occasions and the demand for premium flavour experiences.
The new slice combines 100% British farmed beef with potato, carrot, onion, swede, leek, chestnut mushrooms, black treacle, garlic and Guinness. Wrapped in Ginsters’ hallmark 80-layer puff pastry, the filling is brought together in a gravy infused with smoked salt.
“We have come together with Guinness to contemporise a traditional recipe with our combined signature taste,” said Sam Mitchell, managing director of Ginsters.
“Ginsters’ chefs and Guinness master brewers have created a bold new flavour which brings vibrancy into the subcategory while elevating the at-home mealtime occasion,” he added.
Neil Shah, head of Guinness GB, said: “Guinness and food is an iconic combination, be it as an ingredient or as a perfect pairing. Teaming up with Ginsters is a celebration of our unique heritages and shared values, bringing together the best of our regions – all whilst having fun with flavours and bringing consumers something new.”
The new Guinness-infused slice marks the latest in a number of recent co-partnered product launches for Ginsters, such as a vegan sausage roll with Quorn last year and a vegan empanada containing Pulled Oats, a plant-based meat alternative from Gold&Green Foods.
Ginsters Smoky Steak & Guinness Slice will be available nationwide from 15 March for an RRP of £1.80.
