Worthy Farm – home of Glastonbury Festival – has partnered with Wyke Farms to launch its first ever reserve cheddar cheese in the UK.
The exclusive cheese has been made using milk from the dairy herd which calls the Worthy Farm festival site its home.
Worthy Farm Reserve Cheddar has been aged under wood for six months to deliver what it describes as a mature flavour with a hint of sweetness that melts to give a lasting creamy flavour.
The new product brings together two neighbouring farms; milk producer Worthy Farm and cheese manufacturer Wyke Farms.
The cheese will be available exclusively in Co-op stores nationwide this February and will retail for an RRP of £3 per 320g block.
The launch builds on the partnership between Co-op and Glastonbury Festival since 2019, when Co-op was selected as the festival’s first ever retail partner and built a fully-operational food store at the site.
As part of an on-pack promotion, Co-op members and customers have the chance to win tickets to the next Glastonbury Festival in a monthly competition.
Michael Eavis, the Glastonbury Festival creator, said: “About 100 years ago, my grandfather decided to make the milk at Worthy Farm into Caerphilly cheese. Now, after 50 years of our recent festival history, our farm milk is being made into cheese once again by Wyke Farms and will be sold exclusively at Co-op stores across the UK.
“We’re thrilled that we can work together as a collective, with Co-op and Wyke Farms, to bring this tasty reserve cheddar to households across the UK.”
