Godiva has launched its 2018 holiday collection in the US, featuring chocolates that are inspired by holiday desserts from around the globe.
The new collection gift box features a selection of bite-sized mini cakes, encased in Belgian chocolate. The chocolates are moulded into cake shapes, in a move to hint at the tastes within.
Four flavours are available: chocolate, a 72% dark chocolate ganache in a smooth milk chocolate shell; dark chocolate pecan pie, which is a pecan praliné in a smooth dark chocolate shell; milk chocolate almond cookie, a creamy almond praliné in a smooth milk chocolate shell; and dark pear vanilla, featuring soft pear combined with creamy vanilla mousse in a smooth dark chocolate shell.
Packaging for the limited-edition holiday collection features a wreath designed by British illustrator Emily Carew Woodard and inspired by the English Christmas carol ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’.
Godiva is also adding toppers to its hot chocolate offering. As the holiday-themed chocolate topper melts, it infuses the hot chocolate with richer flavours to create “a double-chocolatey experience”.
The chocolatier will also sell holiday artisanal lollipops and holiday truffle pops during the festive season, both of which are freshly prepared in-store.
Godiva executive chef chocolatier Jean Apostolou said: “Godiva’s collections have served as opulent holiday gifts for more than 90 years. The legacy continues with our luxurious new selection of ‘mini-cakes’ paying homage to some of the most cherished holiday desserts globally. These little slices of heaven make our ultimate holiday gift even more magical.”
