Grenade has released a low sugar, high protein Carb Killa ice cream bar, marking the performance nutrition brand’s first frozen treat.
Last month, Mondelēz International entered into a deal to buy Grenade from its majority shareholder Lion Capital.
Available in the UK, the new Carb Killa Ice Cream comes in two flavours: White Chocolate Cookie and Peanut Nutter. Ideal as a post-workout snack, the frozen treat aims to help support fitness goals.
White Chocolate Cookie features vanilla protein ice cream with chocolate sauce, topped with a layer of chocolate cookie crumb and covered in white milk chocolate. Each bar contains 120 calories, 6.5g protein and 1.7g of sugar.
Meanwhile, the Peanut Nutter variety comprises caramel protein ice cream with caramel sauce, topped with a layer of roasted peanuts and coated in milk chocolate. Each bar contains 137 calories, 6.9g of protein and 0.9g of sugar.
“With our Carb Killa protein bar the UK’s best-selling since 2016, we’re delighted to be able to offer the same great taste in an even ‘cooler’ form,” said Grenade head of product Rob Page.
“Having received countless requests over the years, we expect consumer appetite to be high, so we may well launch additional flavours later down the line.”
Carb Killa Ice Cream is available now in packs of four bars from Tesco (RRP £5) and will also be available through company-owned Blakemore convenience stores.
