Yuengling has partnered with The Hershey Company in its first beer collaboration, to release a limited-edition chocolate-infused beer throughout the US.
The two Pennsylvania brands have joined forces to celebrate consumer’s love of beer and chocolate with the launch of Yuengling Hershey’s Chocolate Porter.
At 4.7% ABV, Chocolate Porter combines Yuengling’s nearly 200-year-old dark brewed porter recipe with Hershey’s chocolate.
In operation since 1829, Yuengling’s brewing process of its dark brew porter uses caramel and dark roasted malts. Once blended with Hershey’s chocolate, the companies claim it creates a porter with a ‘smooth, rich and delightfully chocolaty finish’.
The American companies recommend pairing the beer with barbecued and smoked meat, cheeses or desserts.
“We saw a unique opportunity to partner with Hershey’s, a brand known worldwide for its iconic, delicious tasting chocolate, to deliver fans our first-ever beer collaboration,” said Jennifer Yuengling, vice president of operations at Yuengling.
She adds: “We spent nearly a year developing our Yuengling Hershey’s Chocolate Porter and are excited for the world to indulge in the classic taste of Yuengling Dark Brewed Porter blended with the unmistakable taste of Hershey’s chocolate.”
Ernie Savo, senior director of The Hershey Company global licensing and business development division said: “Bringing together over 300 years of craft and experience is quite rare in 2019; however, that’s exactly what we did bringing together the Yuengling brewing masters with the chocolate-making expertise of Hershey.
“This Yuengling Hershey’s Chocolate Porter is sure to surprise and delight the chocolate fans and the avid beer-lovers among us that are looking to try something new and delicious.”
From mid-October 2019 for a limited time only, Chocolate Porter will be available on draft in select bars and restaurants in more than a dozen US states.
