UK pastry brand Higgidy is expanding its food-to-go portfolio with the introduction of a new range of slices.
Suitable for lunches at home or on the go, the slices can be enjoyed hot or cold and come in three options: ham hock & cheddar, mature cheddar & onion, and chicken, bacon & mushroom.
“Our data has shown an increase in working-from-home lunches and the need for convenient options that are also tasty and made using top-quality ingredients, so we wanted to tap into this new consumer occasion,” said Higgidy co-founder, Camilla Stephens.
“We are incredibly excited to launch our new range of slices, which are the ideal alternative to boring sandwiches and soups at home or for those looking for lunch at home or on the go.”
Stephens added: “Our insights have shown that taste, quality and variety matter most to consumers when it comes to savoury pastry. So, as with all our products, our new slices contain only top-notch ingredients such as British outdoor-bred pork and British free range chicken.”
With an RRP of £2.20, Higgidy’s new slices will be available at Waitrose and Sainsbury’s from 21 April.
Samworth Brothers, the owner of the Ginsters pasty brand, recently increased its stake in Higgidy to become the majority shareholder.
