Flexible films manufacturer Innovia Films has been given a rebrand to align the firm’s image to its parent company CCL Industries.
As part of the move, Treofan Americas – which was acquired by CCL earlier this year – will immediately transition to trade under the name of Innovia Films.
The purpose is to unify the new larger company which has a broader global footprint.
Innovia Films said the challenge was to find a logo that allowed it to remain independent, while creating something that was modern, global and distinctive.
Günther Birkner, president of Innovia Films, said: We are very happy with the new design. Working together with the agency, they have managed to capture the essence of what Innovia Films does (flexible films) while transitioning the brand closer to CCL’s.
“This achieves the stated objectives and gives the larger films segment the opportunity to harmonise its global identity under a refreshed contemporary brand.”
Employing over 1,100 people, Innovia Films is a producer of biaxially oriented polypropylene films. It has production facilities in Australia, Belgium, Mexico and the UK.
Innovia Films was bought by CCL Industries for CAD 1.13 billion (€810 million) in 2016.
CCL said the transaction followed a period for Innovia in which it “substantially enhanced the capabilities and performance” of its film business.
Meanwhile, CCL Industries acquired Treofan America and Trespaphan Mexico Holdings from M&C for approximately $255 million earlier this year. M&C has retained the rights to the Treofan name.
