At Aquatech Amsterdam 2019, H2O Direct managing director Jim Redford spoke with Refreshment magazine editor Martin White about the company’s VH-IEN (variable head) range of filters, the benefits offered by variable head filters and more.
H2O Direct was showcasing its full range of variable head filters at the show, and Redford told Refreshment that the main benefit offered by variable head bypass filters is the ability to improve the taste of water for hot beverages by ensuring the water is at the optimum pH levels.
Redford said: “The variable head filters enable us to adjust the input and output of the water in a bypass situation. This can help you to change the taste of the water and help to make sure you don’t get acidic water. Acidic water is around 6pH, so we want to keep it above that wherever possible.
“We believe that, particularly with traditional coffee machines, that you need to be able to alter the taste of the coffee by using the pH of the water… and this enables us to do that.”
Redford also discussed the company’s FX range of filters, filtration trends and the company’s ten-year anniversary.
