The Asian-inspired food brand itsu has launched its first range of crispy seaweed thins that are specifically created for children in the UK. The snack is targeted at parents looking for child-friendly healthy snacks.
Itsu introduced the UK to seaweed snacks back in 2012, and have since recognised a growing gap for a specially formulated kids range and claims its new product is the first in the children category.
The line up will feature two flavours: Tomato and Original. Each pack contains only 11 calories, and is a good source of iron, antioxidants, protein and idoine. The snack is low in sugar, while packed with nutrients, fibre and vitamin B12.
Natalie Sugarman, marketing director of itsu grocery said: “Having already established ourselves as number one UK brand in seaweed, launching a children’s range was the logical next step.
“The search for healthy, low fat and low sugar snacks that the whole family can enjoy has never been greater. We’re confident crispy seaweed thins for children will be a terrific hit with parents and children alike and will drive incremental sales in the category for retailers.”
Crispy Seaweed Thins for children will join itsu’s portfolio of Asian-inspired food, including miso’easy, ricecakes, gyoza and rice’noodles.
Itsu’s new product for children are available nationwide in Waitrose, Ocado and Wholefoods for an RRP of £2.50 per pack of four.
