Jack Link’s has launched a new Peperami Beef Bar in the UK to offer an on-the-go snack for health-conscious consumers.
With 69 calories per bar, the product is a blend of beef and pork and has 5.9g of protein per 100g.
Peperami Beef Bar aims to satisfy increasingly nutritionally aware shoppers with an alternative to sweet products in the snack bar space.
Pavan Chandra, marketing manager at Peperami, said: “We are excited to expand the Peperami portfolio and introduce our new Peperami Beef Bar to the category, providing consumers with a convenient protein kick.
“As the category continues to evolve and grow, retailers can capitalise on the opportunity to drive sales in their snacking category by responding to consumer trends, providing shoppers with a healthier alternative to crisps and confectionary.”
The launch is being supported by a seven-figure integrated marketing campaign, which includes a recently launched television commercial, TV sponsorship, out of home, sampling, PR and social media.
Peperami Beef Bar is available in UK supermarkets with a recommended retail price of £2.75 per pack of 3x20g. The single 20g bar is on sale in convenience stores for £0.99.
The release comes two months after Jack Link’s also launched a Beef Bar line, which has gone on sale in the UK in two flavours: original, and sweet and hot.
US-based Jack Link’s acquired Unilever’s meat snacks business – including the Peperami and BiFi brands – in 2014.
