British brand Jude’s will launch a four-strong line of lower-calorie ice creams, sweetened with stevia and erythritol.
The launch follows on from the introduction last year of a range of low-sugar milk lollies, as it aimed to offer a healthier selection of kids’ ice creams.
Now Jude’s hopes to continue the success of the range with the new ice creams with no added sugar, targetted at adults.
Alongside stevia and erythritol, the products are sweetened with the sugar content naturally found in cow’s milk, coconut milk and vegetable fibre.
Four flavours will be available: salted caramel, vanilla bean, peanut butter and vegan chocolate.
Jude’s managing director Chow Mezger said: “The new range is designed to offer consumers choice. For those looking for lower-calorie and no-added-sugar products, we wanted to offer ice cream with both outstanding taste and provenance.
“We use fresh British milk collected daily from the cows and the finest ingredients such as Madagascan vanilla, English sea salt and Sri Lankan coconut milk which gives the vegan ice cream an incredible rich and creamy taste and texture.”
The line will be available as of 23 October at Sainsbury’s stores in the UK, retailing for £4 per tub.
