Kellogg-owned Insurgent Brands – which manages the Rxbar snack brand – has released a new line of savoury snack bars in the US called TIG.
Four flavours of TIG savoury snack bars are currently available – BBQ, Buffalo, Pizza and Chili Lime.
According to a statement from Insurgent Brands, the new bars have been released to offer a ‘healthier’ alternative to ‘junk food cravings like pizza, buffalo wings and BBQ chips’.
TIG bars contain a range of plant-based ingredients including puffed chickpeas, roasted green lentils and crispy wild and brown rice, and the bar is also gluten-free, non-GMO and nut-free. Each bar contains 140 calories, 7g of fibre and 1-2g of sugar.
Victor Lee, CMO of Rxbar said: “Snack cravings aren’t just for the sweet tooth – we’ve all experienced that instant craving for something different, savoury or bold, without the guilty feeling that comes afterwards.
“TIG makes it possible for snack bars to provide the same indulgent flavours people crave while maintaining better-for-you ingredients.”
