Campbell Soup-owned Kettle Chips has launched a limited-edition Mediterranean olive and feta crisp flavour in the UK.
The snack has been created to offer consumers a taste of their holidays when at home and is designed to complement summer eating occasions such as barbecues and picnics.
Kettle said the seasoning has a “rich and creamy feta profile, sharpened with a punchy olive note that adds a moreish level of acidity to the chips”.
Kettle Chips chef Phil Hovey said: “For our 2019 summer limited edition I have taken inspiration from the Mediterranean. Greek feta provides an intense creamy richness that I have partnered with the big character of olives. A touch of citrus and a pinch of herbs really bring this combo to life. A real taste of summer sun.”
Kizzy Beckett, Kettle Chips senior brand manager, added: “At Kettle, we’re always looking for new ways to transport consumers with exciting flavour experiences – and where better to be transported than the sun-drenched Mediterranean? Through our delicious, 100% real food seasoning, we hope to give every consumer a taste of the sun this summer, despite our unreliable British weather.”
The new flavour is available in 135g sharing bags with a recommended retail price of £1.99.
Earlier this year, Kettle expanded its portfolio in the UK with a range of crisps partnered with slices of fruit and vegetables.
The Kettle Chips brand was acquired by Campbell Soup in 2017 as part of its $4.87 billion deal for Snyder’s-Lance.
