Keurig releases dual-function coffee maker portfolio

Keurig Dr Pepper has launched a new line of coffee makers under the name K-Duo, referring to its dual-function ability to brew a single cup, as well as a carafe of drip coffee.

The K-Duo portfolio offers three models which all combine single-serve and carafe brewing experiences into one coffee maker, a first for the Keurig brand.

A single cup can be brewed using K-Cup pods, while a carafe can be made with the consumer’s choice of coffee grounds.

Andrew Loucks, president of Keurig Appliances said: “Through our research and insights efforts, we learned consumers wanted versatile brew options from a one coffee maker on their countertop to serve different coffee occasions, such as everyday morning routines, group entertaining or a date night.

“We’re excited to offer a new dual-function brewer portfolio that gives consumers the ability to make a single cup through K-Cup pods or a full carafe using traditional drip brewing, with both processes delivering the same quality coffee experience consumers have grown to love from Keurig.”

North American coffee and beverage company Keurig has offered additional features within its K-Duo portfolio. These include: Smart Start where the machine heats, then brews the coffee in one simple process and Pause and Pour, which provides consumers the option to pause the coffee maker mid-brew for 20 seconds, allowing them to pour a cup.

The water reservoir is shared between both carafe and single-serve brewing, making it easier to clean and requiring fewer water refills between brewing.

The new line-up includes three models, each offering different features for varying prices. K-Duo Essentials is Keurig’s simplest edition, which offers three brew sizes for a single cup and a glass carafe that fills 12 cups.

For a higher price, the other models offer additional features such as a digital display, a thermal carafe that keeps freshly brewed coffee warm for up to two hours and a reusable gold-tone mesh filler.

Keurig’s K-Duo line up is available nationwide at retailers, with K-Duo Essentials, K-Duo, K-Duo Plus at an RRP of $99, $169.99 and $229.99 respectively.
