US protein beverage brand Koia has launched a new product line which aims to integrate fruit with the benefits of a superfood in each variety.
Called fruit infusions, the line is available in three flavours: chocolate banana, mango crème and strawberry crème.
Koia said the beverages are made with wholesome ingredients “that consumers can see and recognise to provide one of the cleanest, low-sugar protein options on the market”.
Koia aims to offer a lower-sugar alternative to other protein beverage brands; its fruit infusions line has 6g of sugar per bottle.
The superfoods added to each flavour include: chocolate banana with maca, mango crème enhanced with turmeric, and strawberry crème with the schisandra berry.
Koia founder and CEO Chris Hunter said: “After conducting extensive research on current trends, we know that consumers continue to want fruit-forward flavours in their protein options.
“As we did with our original line, we listened to our consumers and filled the gap in the market while staying true to the simplicity of Koia’s core. Fruit infusions are the perfect solution and expansion to our line-up of high-protein, low-sugar drinks made with clean ingredients.”
In 2016, Koia launched nationally at Whole Foods Market and it now has its products on sale in more than 3,000 stores across the US.
In March of this year, the brand debuted its new packaging design and standardised nutrition labels across all its flavours.
Each of the new fruit infusions retails for $3.99.
