Krones acquires PET equipment manufacturer MHT Holding

Krones has acquired German equipment manufacturer MHT Holding for an undisclosed sum, strengthening its PET manufacturing capabilities.

Hochheim-based MHT Holding manufactures a range of injection moulding tools for food and beverage packaging producers, and provides other services to the PET industry.

Krones says that the acquisition closes a gap in Krones’ PET value chain and will expand its PET preform portfolio, meaning that the company can offer broader PET solutions to its client base.

MHT will remain headquartered in Hochheim and retain its current management team.

The acquisition complements the 70% stake that Krones purchased in Integrated Plastics Systems in April. Integrated Plastics Systems provides a range of turnkey PET injection moulding solutions for the beverage industry.

Earlier this month, Krones acquired US-based equipment manufacturer Sprinkman, which produces a range of manufacturing equipment for clients in the dairy, liquid food and brewing industries.
