US-based workplace food solutions company, Legend Food Service, has acquired two vending businesses, Vending Plus and Jel-Cap Vending.
Both based in the Washington DC metropolitan area, Vending Plus and Jel-Cap Vending were both established in the 1980s and offer a range of vending and catering solutions to workplaces in the area.
According to a statement, Legend plans to invest and expand Jel-Cap Vending’s commissary options, allowing Legend to offer fresh food and catering services across the region.
Legend has purchased six legacy companies since its inception in 2018, including four companies in the last seven months.
Kyle Loughran, founder and CEO of Legend, said: “These acquisitions underscore Legend’s commitment to expanding our industry-leading products and customer service to new markets and customers.
“We are thrilled to bring our fresh and innovative workplace food service to the Mid-Atlantic region. We can now service customers from Northern Virginia to Massachusetts.”
Nick Duda, Legend head of corporate development, added: “We love this industry because of its stability and opportunities for both growth and efficiency.
“Both our customers and investors have been amazed by how scale and investment in a historically overlooked and undercapitalised industry have created tremendous benefits for everyone.”
