Liquibox has opened a new flexible packaging facility in Madrid, Spain, to meet increasing demand for bag-in-box containers from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The packaging company says that its new 140,000-square-foot facility will more than triple its bag making capacity in continental Europe.
The Madrid site – which includes warehouse capacity and a clean room offering more than 13,000 square feet of dedicated production space – is expected to allow Liquibox greater operational flexibility.
According to Liquibox, the new facility will also increase the types and sizes of flexible bags that the company can bring to market.
Commenting on the factory launch, Liquibox chief operations officer Andrew McLeland said: “Every day our team is guided by our core values of commitment, innovation and responsibility.
“These values came to life in the hard work from our team to design, develop and create the European bag-in-box centre of excellence.”
