Nestlé has expanded its “premium” KitKat Senses range with the launch of a two-finger biscuit in three flavour varieties in the UK.
The two-finger biscuit format joins the existing KitKat Senses range of boxed chocolate and single bar formats.
Available in 22.8g bars, the collection features three flavours: salted caramel, millionaire’s shortbread and choc chip cookie dough.
According to Nestlé, each variety features milk chocolate, two layers of wafer and a thick creamy filling that includes either salted caramel flakes, crunchy caramel pieces, or choc chip cookie pieces.
“Our KitKat Senses range is all about those special me-time moments when you want a little bit of luxury,” said Amy Bennett-Inge, assistant brand manager for KitKat.
Bennett-Inge added: “Whether it’s to make your morning cup of coffee extra special, for a pick-me-up throughout the day, or to unwind in the evening, we think our new KitKat Senses biscuits provide the perfect indulgent break.”
The product launch coincides with the announcement of a £800,000 investment in new machinery for its York site in order to produce the new biscuits. Nestlé’s York site also produces a range of two and four finger KitKats and KitKat Chunky bars.
Richard Martin, Nestlé confectionery technical manager said: “The capability to produce our new KitKat Senses biscuits has been developed by our York-based innovations team in record time.
“The £800,000 investment we have made in our York factory has further strengthened our KitKat operations within the UK, and provides us with additional capabilities for the future.”
Available since the start of February in Asda and Morrisons, the new KitKat Senses biscuits can be purchased for an RRP of £1.99 for a pack of five, with a bigger roll-out planned for later this year.
Earlier this year, Nestlé launched a new caramel-flavoured chocolate bar to its KitKat range in the UK called KitKat Gold, following the success of the product in the Australian market.
