Roar, a new entrant to the protein snack market, has launched three high-protein, low-sugar desserts in the UK.
Created by chef Paul Brennan, the products contain more than 20g of protein each and are packaged in small pots.
The double chocolate dessert – a mix of chocolate pudding and chocolate sauce – is said to be “packed” with flavour thanks to a chocolate cookie pure whey protein isolate combined with oats, molasses and chocolate sauce.
The “sweet and tangy” Jaffa break variant features a layer of chocolate sauce and pureed mandarin.
Three dessert flavours are available: double chocolate, raspberry blondie and Jaffa break.
Finally, raspberry blondie protein dessert has a cheesecake-like texture and contains white chocolate-flavoured pure whey protein, oats and a raspberry puree.
“With consumers incorporating new ways of eating into their fitness and sports routines, we wanted to create something simple, convenient and full of flavour,” said Gilli Appleby, marketing manager for Roar.
“We saw this as an opportunity to bring those who enjoy an active lifestyle a high-protein, low-sugar snack option, as well as a new way to enjoy a sweet treat that complements their diet.”
