UK cheese manufacturer Norseland has launched four new summer seasonal cheese combinations under its Ilchester brand portfolio.
The brand’s new releases feature its first-ever truffle cheese, a Mediterranean-inspired cheese, a Wensleydale combined with honey, apricots and orange; as well as a Wimbledon-inspired cheese that celebrates the British tennis tournament.
Ilchester Wensleydale Cheese with Apricot, Orange and Honey will be available in Waitrose stores from 7 July. The brand says the cheese can be crumbled over pancakes and complements salads and sandwiches.
Meanwhile, Ilchester Mediterranean Cheddar features Moroccan green olives, Italian sundried tomatoes and is infused with thyme and oregano. Available as a 90g wheeler, the cheese will be stocked from 16 August in Central England Co-operative stores.
The brand’s Cheddar with Truffle features the addition of salsa truffina, sourced from Italy, and white truffle extra virgin oil. Available to buy from 26 July in Central England Co-operative stores, Ilchester says the Italian-inspired cheese is perfect in risotto and mash potato.
Finally, Ilchester Wensleydale with Prosecco, Strawberry and White Chocolate is rolling out from 5 July in Co-operative stores just in time for Wimbledon.
“Our summer seasonal cheeses are always popular as people seek alternative cheeses to enjoy outdoors,” said Lisa Harrison, senior brand manager for Ilchester.
“This year more than ever, people will be looking to leave behind the memories of a very difficult winter and get outside and enjoy the summer,” she added.
Earlier this year, Ilchester released two Easter-themed cheeses: Cheddar Cheese with Blueberry Hot Cross Bun Flavour and Wensleydale Cheese with Chocolate and Orange.
