Ocean Spray has expanded its cranberry juice offering with a new autumnal variant featuring apples and cinnamon.
Called Cran•Harvest, the beverage is available in a twin 96-ounce size in the US until December.
With the seasonal offering, the cooperative said it is targeting consumers who may be falling into pumpkin spice fatigue this autumn.
The launch follows on from Ocean Spray’s introduction last year of organic 100% juice blends and pure cranberry (unsweetened) 100% juice.
The blends line is a combination of North American cranberries with other organic fruit juices and is available in three flavours: cranberry, cranberry apple, and cranberry blueberry.
Ocean Spray, which is owned by more than 700 cranberry farmers in the US, Canada and Chile, is investing more than $10 million over the coming years to research the cranberry’s antimicrobial benefit.
Announced last year, the research will look into the role the fruit might play in helping to combat antimicrobial resistance.
Besides helping consumers meet their recommended daily intake of fruit, Ocean Spray said the fruit may reduce the occurrence of certain infections in the urinary tract and stomach.
