Protein bar maker One Brands will release its first range of plant-based protein bars called One Plant, which will be available in US retailers from October.
The One Plant range will initially consist of two flavours, chocolate peanut butter and banana nut bread, each containing 12g of protein and 1g of sugar.
The bars contain a range of plant-based proteins including pea protein, rice protein and almond protein, and each bar is non-GMO, gluten-free and dairy-free.
One Brands claims that One Plant was created in response to the “underdevelopment” of the plant-based category, when considering performance, taste and macro-nutrients.
Peter Burns, CEO of One Brands said: “The industry has been experiencing significant demand for plant-based alternatives from consumers.
“We have been listening to consumers who are disappointed with the taste and nutritional profile in this space.
“We believe it is important to listen to this feedback and transform the plant-based bar set with delicious flavour and unparalleled texture.
“We are thrilled to offer attendees at Expo East a sneak peek at this new offering and look forward to sharing One Plant with consumers nationwide this Fall.”
One Plant from selected US retailers from October, with a suggested retail price of $2.99 per bar.
