Glanbia-owned Optimum Nutrition has launched a new line of snack cakes in the US to offer consumers a source of non-dairy protein.
The vegan Nature Bites feature a coating of dark chocolate “protecting a rich, whipped centre of plant-based protein”, with no artificial flavours.
Each cake contains 14g of protein and four flavours are available: dark chocolate truffle, chocolate coconut, chocolate mint and dark chocolate sea salt.
“Nature Bites are a satisfying snacking source of non-dairy protein for those craving a vegan-friendly, chocolate-flavoured snack option,” said Sarah Teeter, Optimum Nutrition director of marketing.
Four Nature Bites flavours are available: dark chocolate truffle, chocolate coconut, chocolate mint and dark chocolate sea salt.
“Meat-eaters, vegetarians, flexitarians and vegans alike will be amazed at the flavour and rich texture our product developers accomplished with this indulgent plant-based protein snack.”
Each two-piece serving of Nature Bites has 6g of sugar and 26g of carbohydrates, and all flavours contain under 210 calories.
“Nature Bites are the type of convenient snack option ON (Optimum Nutrition) delivers to enjoy on the way to or from the gym, while commuting to work or otherwise on the go,” Teeter added.
“The gluten-free, GMO-free and dairy-free Nature Bites are another example of protein innovation in a growing portfolio of ready-to-eat, better-for-you snack options from ON.”
