Oumph has introduced a new plant-based product inspired by smokehouse ribs, expanding its range of meat alternative products in the UK and Ireland.
According to the brand, the Oumph Sticky Smokehouse product features soy-based rib style fillets covered in a ‘richly-flavoured’, smoky barbecue sauce.
The product will launch in selected Tesco stores in the UK and Ireland this week, and joins other Oumph products available from the retailer, including a pulled pork alternative, Kebab style strips and an unseasoned chicken alternative.
Laura Weadock, account manager at Oumph and Food for Progress, said: “Following the phenomenal success of the Oumph Sticky Smokehouse in Sweden we are delighted to be launching in the UK and partnering with Tesco.
“We know this will be a great hit with all customers and Veganuary is a perfect time to try it, whether your new to Oumph or trying for the first time, our feedback suggests you’ll be amazed with the great taste and it’s perfect for those big nights in.”
Sarah Bird, buying manager – Prepared Foods at Tesco added: “As we expand our plant-based offering, we’re pleased to be introducing Oumph Sticky Smokehouse to a number of our stores.
“It’s a fun, tasty option for anyone considering going vegan or trying a flexitarian diet and perfect to support our Veganuary campaign.”
