PepsiCo’s Cheetos brand has combined two of its beloved products to create a new cheesy snack mix: Cheetos Crunch Pop Mix.
Launching in the US, the new snack blends the brand’s Cheetos Crunchy product with the recently launched Cheetos Popcorn.
According to Frito-Lay, Cheetos Crunch Pop Mix offers a ‘one-of-a-kind’ Cheetle-infused snacking experience, putting a spin on the traditional snack mix.
The innovation also ties into recent food and snack mashup trends that emerged in 2020, including the infusion of snack mixes into mealtime occasions that led to the launch of Cheetos Mac ‘n Cheese.
“2020 was a year unlike any other in that we saw the incredibly popular introduction of Cheetos Popcorn in January, quickly followed by world-changing events that affected every industry differently,” said Rachel Ferdinando, SVP and CMO at Frito-Lay North America, PepsiCo’s convenient foods division.
“For our brands, we saw trends like Cheetos recipe searches skyrocketing 190%. So now we’re thinking with that lens through everything we introduce to the world. Hopefully Cheetos Crunch Pop Mix can provide a small moment of joy and bring a few smiles this year,” she added.
Cheetos Crunch Pop Mix will begin rolling out to retailers nationwide this week for an RRP of $3.99 per 7oz bag and $1.89 for a 2.25oz bag.
