Pernod Ricard has revealed that it will begin distributing its Ungava gin brand in the UK from January 2019.
Ungava gin is one of the leading brands in the Canadian ‘super premium’ gin segment, and the drink has a distinctive, natural yellow colour.
Pernod Ricard claims that the drink should prove popular with consumers due to the rising appetite for gin in the UK, combined with the added intrigue inspired by the distinctive and visually-appealing drink.
The drink itself is distilled in small batches and is made from herbs and berries indigenous to the Arctic region of Canada, and made using traditional techniques.
Chris Ellis, commercial director for Pernod Ricard UK said: “The explosion of Gin in the UK has been driven by consumers seeking new and visually appealing serves.
“Gin has become the largest growth contributor to Total Spirits over the last five years, with growth being driven by the Super Premium sector.
“With innovation key to growth acceleration, Ungava is the perfect addition to our existing range that capitalises on the Super Premium Gin trend and current demand.”
Ungava will be available from selected UK retailers from January 2019, with a suggested retail price of £32 per bottle.
