Created by Italian manufacturer PFM Packaging Machinery, the Azimuth EVO bagging system has been designed to reduce downtime for reel changes and offer automatic film web tracking and a space-saving footprint. The new offering follows the same design concept as the R Series bagging machines.
According to PFM, Azimuth EVO’s automated film reel set-up is designed to both substantially cut changeover time and to minimise film wastage as operators get film edges into alignment. This is particularly important for stand-up, four-side-seal bags, which are becoming increasingly popular for a wide range of food and beverage applications.
The bagger joins PFM’s existing range of automated solutions for the food and non-food sectors display at this year’s PPMA Show in the NEC, Birmingham, UK.
Other recent launches from the packaging manufacturer include the latest version of the flexible Pearl flowrapper, designed in stainless steel for its hygiene benefits; the PFM Scirocco, an inverted web MAP flowrapper for products ranging from milk and cheese to wet wipes, and the latest generation of the PFM C2 multi-head weigher, designed for high-speed and precision weighing of granules, and pellets.
