UK plant-based food and drink brand Qwrkee is making its debut into the snacking category this month with a range of vegan jerky.
Made with soy protein, the gluten-free range is said to be packed with protein and fibre, and features 100% recyclable packaging.
Qwrkee said the line focuses on bold flavour combinations that deliver on taste. Four variants are available: maple bacon, smoked black pepper, sweet and spicy BBQ and sriracha hot chilli.
Vishal Madhu, founder of Qwrkee, said: “The launch of our vegan jerky range marks the next step in our mission to further the plant-based foods movement and create foods for the future.
The vegan jerky retails at £3 for a 70g pouch.
“We believe our vegan jerky is unlike anything else on the market, delivering both on taste and texture. Entering the snacking category is an exciting move for our business and we have a number of future innovations in the pipeline.”
The range is going on sale at Whole Foods and Amazon, retailing at £3 for a 70g pouch.
The introduction of the vegan jerky range follows Qwrkee’s launch to market in March with Pea M’lk, which was a finalist in both the ‘Best plant-based product’ and ‘Best food concept’ categories in the 2019 World Food Innovation Awards.
Qwrkee said it aims to deliver great-tasting plant-based food and beverages that have a nutritional twist.
