Dairy-free yogurt producer Hälsa has been backed by Danone Manifesto Ventures, the venture arm of Danone, as well as former Stonyfield Organic CEO Gary Hirshberg and Orgain CEO Andrew Abraham.
Hirshberg has become a board member of Hälsa, which earlier this year released a range of Organic Oatmilk Yogurt Cups.
“I was attracted to Hälsa yogurts because of their superb taste and texture, but also because I believe that the future of plant-based is absolutely organic,” said Hirshberg.
Hälsa, which means ‘health’ in Swedish, said all its products are free from of gums, emulsifiers, phosphates and processed sugar. To make its dairy alternative range, the brand uses organic oats grown in Scandinavia.

“We are thrilled to welcome Gary, a visionary change-maker who truly cares about what people eat,” said Helena Lumme, Hälsa Foods co-founder and president.
“The future of plant-based belongs to 100% clean label. Hälsa cracked the code by developing a new manufacturing process that keeps the nutritional benefits of whole grain oats intact.”
Danone Manifesto Ventures earlier this year invested in plant-based food and beverage firm Forager Project.
Last year, Danone revealed plans to triple the size of its plant-based business by 2025 by combining its position in the dairy industry with the high plant-based growth potential.
