Proud Source Water has received financial backing from new investors, which it will use to expand the distribution of its aluminium-bottled alkaline water products.
The water brand states that it will use the investment to deepen its roots in existing retail channels, scale up production of its products and expand its reach into new retail channels across the US, as it aims to meet increasing demand from eco-conscious consumers.
Proud Source Water’s alkaline water products are packaged in fully-recyclable aluminium bottles, and the brand claims that its plastic-free packaging has proven popular as sustainability has become a key issue for many consumers.
Proud Source Water’s president, CJ Pennington, said: “Mackay, Idaho, which is home to our small community of hard workers, has always been known for its pristine, naturally filtered and minerally rich water.
“With this investment capital, we can deliver it straight from the source to consumers nationwide as we focus on overall growth. Plastic-free is the future and we can’t wait to hydrate more communities the right way.”
The investment round was led by venture capital firm AF Ventures, formerly known as AccelFoods. Jordan Gaspar, managing partner at AF Ventures, added: “Proud Source Water’s recyclable aluminium packaging offers consumers a much-needed alternative to plastic bottles, which are filling up our landfills and oceans.
“Through our extensive network of major retailer and distribution partners, we see tremendous opportunity to grow this brand well beyond its current footprint.”
