Yorkshire-based superfood business, Rainforest Foods has launched Bambeanies, a new cereal range using beans, rice, coconut and baobab, as a nutritious alternative for UK families.
The Bambeanies range offers two products: Super Crispies and Super Cacao Crispies. Each bowl of Bambeanies is suitable for vegans, high in fibre and a source of iron and protein.
The new breakfast cereal claims to use both ethically sourced and natural ingredients – including navy, white and garbanzo beans, wholegrain rice, coconut flour, blossom nectar and baobab – while adding as little sugar and salt as possible.
Head of retail at Rainforest Foods, Stewart McGuckin said: “With increasing focus on the amount of sugar in many products, the type of ingredients used and where they’re from, we wanted to create foods that challenged the normal way of doing things; that took the super ingredients all around us in nature and brought them together in simple, tasty and exciting products – absolutely nothing artificial, no confusing labels which parents struggle to make head nor tail of and that all the family would enjoy.”
Partnered with Rainforest Concern charity, the Yorkshire company ensures it sources its baobab from Eco Products in South Africa.
McGuckin adds: “We are determined to try our best to leave the world in a better state than how we found it – the health of consumers through the products we develop; the environment through the ingredients we use and how we source them and the communities of the producers of our ingredients through long-term partnerships.”
Rainforest Foods’ new cereal range, Bambeanies is currently available in Sainsbury’s stores across the country for an RRP of £3.50 per box.
