Finnish food company Raisio has added a new limited-edition yogurt drink flavour to its cholesterol-lowering Benecol brand portfolio.
The roll out of the new vanilla flavour marks the brand’s 25th year anniversary and coincides with a nationwide campaign worth £1 million.
Available in the UK, each bottle of the yogurt drink contains 2g of plant stanols, which Benecol says is proven to lower cholesterol by up to 7-10% in just three weeks. The drinks are also fortified with vitamin B1 and low in saturated fat.
The launch also comes after a rebrand of Benecol’s entire portfolio with a clean and new design, in an effort to underline the brand’s message “proven to lower cholesterol”.
Brand and activation manager at Raisio, Jennifer Coates, said: “Benecol has been encouraging the nation to make small, simple switches to lower their cholesterol for 25 years and we’re pleased to be able to celebrate this milestone by offering our consumers a new flavour of our popular yogurt drinks.
“We are very proud of our great-tasting portfolio which is shown to lower cholesterol and hope to continue to add new innovative products to the range over the next 25 years to come.”
Benecol’s vanilla yogurt drinks will be available to buy in major supermarkets nationwide for an RRP of £3.95 per pack of six.
