Italian company Rigoni Di Asiago has acquired organic chocolate producers Saveurs & Nature, in a move to strengthen its market position.
Rigoni Di Asiago, the owner of brands such as Nocciolata, Fiordifrutta and Mielbio, produces organic fruit and hazelnut spreads and honey.
The acquired company, Saveurs & Nature, based in Montrèverd, France, produces a wide range of chocolate bars, chocolates, cereal pralines, praline bonbons and other products made from organic chocolate.
Jean-Michel Mortreau, founder of Saveurs & Nature, said: “The sale of our company was a long-standing decision and we chose to do it in the interests of the company and its employees. I had very clear ideas and my wish was to pass on my business to a family that shared our values and already had deep experience in organic farming. My meeting with Andrea Rigoni was decisive in terms of sharing values and vision. In addition, I discovered a company whose size and complementary nature of products and skills offer exciting prospects for the Saveurs & Nature team.”
Rigoni di Asiago plans to use the acquisition to strengthen its market position in France and internationally. The company wants to continue to grow Saveurs & Nature through distribution in France and abroad, combining both company’s expertise and skills to accelerate innovation.
The deal will also allow the Montrèverd production site to become a hub for the development of organic chocolate.
