UK-based Scandinavian food firm ScandiKitchen has launched a collection of “premium” jams which it says can be paired with both sweet and savoury dishes.
Available through the company’s website and on Ocado, the jams aim to provide a true taste of Scandanavia with three flavours available: wild cloudberry, wild lingonberry and wild bilberry.
ScandiKitchen said all three are “hand foraged and lovingly made in small batches by a family-owned producer to give body and texture to the jams”.
The cloudberry is said to have umami undertones and is suitable for serving with strong cheeses or poured over vanilla ice cream.
ScandiKitchen said the lingonberry flavour is a familiar jam which has been given a luxurious twist. It contains 55% berries and pairs well with Swedish meatballs, toast or porridge.
Finally, the bilberry variant is said to be a “succulent jam” made on the west coast of Sweden. Each of the three flavours are available in 200g jars.
ScandiKitchen is a café, deli and online store specialising in the produce of all Scandinavian countries. It stocks over 1,200 lines online which are delivered in the UK, Ireland and the EU.
