Selecta has launched a range of dedicated vending machines called ‘Safety Stations’ in Europe, which are equipped with health and safety products including hand sanitisers and face masks.
The new Safety Stations have been installed in locations such as Zurich Airport in Switzerland and Brussels train station in Belgium, and aim to help commuters and travellers stay safe during the Covid-19 pandemic by allowing consumers to purchase products such as masks and sanitising gels if they lose one or leave them at home.
Selecta has also announced that it is adding protective equipment including face masks, hand sanitisers and disinfectant wipes in its conventional vending machines in addition to snacks and drinks.
According to a statement released by the company, Selecta has already equipped over 1,000 vending machines and Safety Stations with safety products in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany and Switzerland, and aims to increase its offer over the coming weeks and months.
Thomas Nussbaumer, managing director of Selecta Switzerland, said: “The health and safety of our employees, clients and the communities in which we operate is our utmost priority. As more people are returning to work and commuting, we have seen an increasing demand for these kind of safety solutions, both in public and private vending.
“We are proud to be able to respond quickly to these emerging needs, and the response so far has been overwhelmingly positive.”
Tim Goossens, managing director of Selecta Belgium, added: “As our economy is slowly restarting, it is important to us that we’re able to respond our customers’ changing needs, and these products and services enable us to do that.
“The Safety Station is a great example, allowing consumers to access necessary equipment 24/7 in an easy and safe way. We are delighted to be able to support our clients and partners this way during these challenging times.”
