It’s easy to forget that PET packaging is much more than just the bottle reaching the consumer. More than one-third of all beverage volume is packaged in PET thanks to its unique properties in terms of food safety, convenience, design flexibility, transparency and affordability. It is the only plastic suitable for direct food contact and for 100% closed loop bottle-to-bottle recycling.

In addition, for each type of packaging material used, you need to consider the origin of the material – whether it is virgin, recycled or bio-based PET –, its energy, water and chemical consumption and its end of life properties.

Moreover, our state-of-the-art blowing process ensures consistent recycled PET (rPET) bottle quality, reducing the environmental footprint of our customers and saving on resources. Besides rPET, we see a great opportunity in the revival of refillable PET bottles (ref-PET).
