US biotechnology company Solarea Bio has announced that it has signed a technology licensing agreement with ADM.
Solarea Bio develops new microbiome-based solutions to worldwide health problems, such as osteoporosis in humans. The company has extensive expertise in data science and microbial product development.
The new agreement will allow ADM to examine the potential use of microbes in food and beverage solutions for health and wellness support.
ADM’s Daniel Ramon Vidal commented: “The microbiome is one of ADM’s six strategic platforms that are powering ADM’s growth and we’re continuing to expand our capabilities and develop the next wave of innovation for consumers who are looking for foods and beverages to support their health and wellness”.
He continued: “We look forward to partnering with Solarea Bio and to leveraging their unique technology and expertise to explore the potential for new nutrition products and solutions”.
This announcement comes after ADM announced the launch of a fully automated flavour production facility in China earlier this year.
