From 2 February 2009, branches in Saltash and Okehampton will be stocking the brand, which has garnered a local following in the region.
Started by husband and wife Murray and Shirley Hutchens, St Breock has been bottled from the spring on the Pawton Gate farm, near Wadebridge, since April 2008.
The family business has seen sales of the water pick up in sports centres and golf clubs in Cornwall. The Waitrose listing is obviously a major boost to distribution.
Tracey Telford, buyer of local and regional foods for Waitrose, said: “Waitrose is committed to sourcing foods with local provenance as part of its Regionally Produced Initiative. We’re always delighted to work with small companies offering truly regional productsm and St Breock Natural Cornish Water offers an excellent quality product.
“The family has ensured that they balance commercial activity with their own commitment to working with their environment to improve wildlife habitat on their farm under the Natural England Stewardship Scheme.”
