Royal Unibrew’s malt-based drink brand Supermalt is launching a non-alcoholic ginger beer in the UK.
Hitting shelves this autumn, ginger beer by Supermalt is made using real ginger extract and a hint of lemongrass to create a “refreshing drink with an energising, fiery kick”.
The new beverage is available in both an original and a zero-sugar variant and comes in a choice of 330ml glass bottles or 330ml cans.
Eye-catching packaging has been added to the line to help the products stand out on shelf and in bar refrigerators.
Royal Unibrew UK trade marketing manager Neil Lunn said: “Ginger beer is one of those retro beverages that are seeing a significant uplift in demand year on year, especially in glass bottles. With its refreshing, revitalising notes and a fiery kick, consumers are drawn to the unique flavour and satisfying taste of this traditional beverage. That being said, the market is dominated by just one or two main brands.
“Following a period of extensive research, we identified that many Supermalt fans also enjoyed the energising taste of ginger beer and with our experience in soft drink production, this category offered a natural step to allow us to expand our core Supermalt portfolio as well as welcome new consumers to the brand.
“Made using natural ingredients, ginger beer by Supermalt is a delicate match of sweet and spicy notes, delivering an exceptional taste and delightful warming sensation.”
