SweeGen has announced that the China Commercial Foreign Trade Group (CCFT) will distribute its Bestevia sweetener portfolio in China under a new joint venture.
CCFT’s affiliate company China Commerce Sugar Industry is reportedly one of the largest sugar distributors and trading partners internationally. As a strategic partner, SweeGen will utilise CCFT’s extensive distribution channels in China.
Under the new agreement, CCFT will provide food and beverage manufacturers in China access to Bestevia Taste Solutions.
Launched in August last year, Bestevia Taste Solutions is a portfolio of non-GMO zero-calorie stevia sweeteners featuring the exclusive Bestevia e+ stevia sweeteners as well as other ingredients like Reb M.
The platform claims to offer sugar reduction solutions for food and beverage applications across the spectrum, including beverages, dairy, confectionery, bakery and sauces.
The strategic partnership with CCFT comes at a time when SweeGen is expanding its regional applications capabilities around the globe to support and collaborate closely with its customers to enable local solutions.
California-headquartered SweeGen also said its new joint venture is in line with China’s ‘Healthy China 2030’ initiative to reduce sugar consumption by at least 17%.
