Food and beverage flavour company T. Hasegawa USA has unveiled plans to open a new production facility in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
The new 60,000-square-foot plant will primarily produce sweet food and beverage flavours and will contain equipment for liquid blending, spray dry technology for powdered flavours and flavour extraction equipment. The facility will also double T. Hasegawa’s production capabilities in the US market.
The company will continue to operate from its US headquarters in Cerritos, California, but will shift current manufacturing from its Corona site to the new larger facility.
T. Hasegawa’s CEO, Tom Damiano, said: “We have experienced organic growth in recent years and outgrown our original manufacturing facilities as we continue to expand our world-class food and beverage flavour development. The new Rancho Cucamonga location is significantly larger than our existing US manufacturing facility in Cerritos and will serve as a platform for future growth.”
He continued: “The expansive Rancho Cucamonga facility will increase our company headcount by more than 30% over the next five years. The positions we will be filling at our new plant are highly-skilled, well-paying jobs in manufacturing, R&D and other speciality areas. We’re committed to developing a world-class team that will continue our rapid growth in the US market.”
T. Hasegawa said it also plans to expand its manufacturing facility for savoury flavours in Cerritos once the Rancho Cucamonga project is finalised.
Construction of the new plant has already begun and its doors are expected to open in March 2022.
