Natural energy drink brand Tenzing has launched a new beverage that combines anti-oxidising berries with vegan branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs).
Tenzing Blackberry & Açai is the brand’s first blend to include natural BCAAs that claim to increase stamina and aid sports recovery.
While most BCAA products are made from keratin found in animal-derived sources, Tenzing found a natural source. The brand extracted BCAAs by fermenting corn using probiotic bacteria.
Like Tenzing’s other flavours, Original and Raspberru & Yuzu, the new blend also features caffeine, electrolytes and vitamin C.
However, the bigger 330ml cans reportedly packs more caffeine (106mg) and vitamin C (24mg) than the brand’s previous two blends.
With 68 calories per can, the beverage contains 100% natural ingredients: Himalayan rock salt, green coffee, green tea, lemon juice, beet sugar, British blackberries, acerola cherries, acai berries and BCAAs.
Huib van Bockel, founder of Tenzing, said: “Somehow people have come to believe that energy from nature is not as strong as artificial energy drinks. This is of course far from the truth as our natural range packs just the same punch.
“Now we’ve launched a drink that goes even further. We found a way to source BCAA from corn and are excited to launch the world’s first naturally energising drink with plant-based BCAAs.”
Due to the current lockdown situation in the UK and more people taking up exercise, Tenzing has brought forward the launch of its ‘most powerful plant-based energy drink to date’.
From 18 May, Tenzing Blackberry & Açai will be available for an RRP of £1.99 per can from a variety stores in the UK.
