Canada’s The Little Potato Company has unveiled new packaging for its range of creamer potatoes alongside two new flavours: tomato basil, and roasted red pepper and onion.
Driven by consumer feedback, the brand’s Microwave Ready and Oven|Grill Ready Kits have been given a new look to emphasise a “commitment to taste, freshness and convenience”. The packaging features a freshness window, enclosed seasoning pack and is said to boast greater functionality.
The proprietary packaging features clearer nutritional messaging, cooking instructions and easily peelable film.
The Little Potato Company vice president of marketing and product innovation Richard Vann said: “We spent a lot of time talking to consumers and reviewing market trends. What we learned is consumers want to see the potatoes and desire more convenience.
“We then extensively explored packaging and form factors. After nearly 100% of consumers surveyed indicated top box purchase intent, we knew we had a winner.”
The company’s Microwave line of creamer potatoes features a seasoning pack and flavours include: garlic parsley, savoury herb and new tomato basil.
Meanwhile, the Oven|Grill Ready Kits are served in a ready-to-use roasting tray alongside seasoning. The flavours include garlic herb, onion and chive, and new roasted red pepper and onion.
The Little Potato Company said its kits deliver the convenience consumers are seeking; each 1lb pack contains pre-washed creamer potatoes with a naturally thin skin that doesn’t require peeling.
