Twiglets were launched in 1929, and have since become part and parcel of British office parties and birthdays. The knobbly shaped snack is produced by Jacob’s Bakery, a subsidiary of United Biscuits, in Aintree, Liverpool.
Since their inception 80 years ago, the distinctive love-it-or-hate-it flavour has remained unchanged. With fewer than 100 calories per 25g pack, the baked snack contains 41% of the recommended daily amount of whole grain.
Twiglets are sold in the UK and Australia, and are also available in the following pack sizes: 45g ‘handypacks’, 150g sharing bags, and a special Christmas-only 200g drum.
