Tyson Foods has announced it will invest $58 million in the expansion of its poultry production facility in Seguin, Texas, to increase capacity.
The investment will enable Tyson to produce more chicken products for foodservice customers at the Seguin site.
The facility is currently 108,836 square feet in size and employs approximately 550 people.
The project will expand the site by an additional 40,000 square feet and see the installation of new, state-of-the-art machinery and equipment.
David Bray, group president of poultry for Tyson Foods, said: “We’re excited about the expansion project at Seguin, which is part of our commitment to meet increasing customer and consumer demand for Tyson chicken while delivering on our strategy of accelerating long-term growth”.
The news comes after Tyson announced a $61 million investment in its Vicksburg poultry plant earlier this month.
