Water dispenser firm Waterlogic has expanded its presence in Sweden with the acquisition of three companies; Vattentornet Aqua Concilio, Waterconcept and Thoreau International.
Vattentornet Aqua Concilio services water dispensers in offices and workplaces across Sweden, Waterconcept focuses on the HoReCa market under the Thoreau brand, while Thoreau International sells franchises for HoReCa businesses outside of Sweden, providing product concept guidance, marketing support and expertise to start-ups.
Waterlogic Sweden provides hydration solutions such as mains-fed water dispensers to a wide range of organisations in the country from offices and workplaces to hospitality and HoReCa businesses.
The acquisition of the three Swedish companies provides Waterlogic with an additional 1,000 water dispensers in the field as well as the use of the Thoreau brand, expanding the firm’s hospitality offering in Sweden alongside its established Purezza brand.
Mattias Källemyr, CEO of Waterlogic Sweden, said: “We are excited to expand the Waterlogic offering for the HoReCa sector, adding the well-respected Thoreau brand to complete our already impressive hospitality concept – Purezza.
“We welcome the Thoreau employees to Waterlogic and wish them every success in our combined business.”
Former Thoreau owner Jörgen Andersson added: “I have great confidence in the expansion plan for the Thoreau concept, and the opportunity to merge with Waterlogic is important in enabling us to continue to expand the brand at an international level and of course locally in Sweden.”
Waterlogic has significantly expanded its business portfolio in recent times with the acquisition of companies in multiple markets. These acquisitions form part of the ‘buy and build’ strategy implemented by Waterlogic when the company was acquired by private equity firm Castik Capital in 2015.
Last month, the company acquired Hidrospot – one of the leading water dispenser firms in Colombia – for an undisclosed figure. Waterlogic also acquired the Tipperary Water Cooler business from C&C Group in October 2020 for approximately €7.4 million, following on from the purchases of US-based businesses Elite Water & Coffee and Smart Water in September 2020.
